On the 1-8-08 it was the athletics carnival at school.
We were just about to do the 100 and 200 meter running races.
I was in the library colouring in a poster with some of my friends.
Then my friend Katrina came in and said that my parents were waiting outside.
She also said that we were going to get a new puppy.
I was both disapointed and excited.
To get there it was 1 hour by car and we spent most of that time
thinking of names for this young male Golden Retrever puppy.
Dad thought of Darwin and it was the best name we could think of.
When we arrived the mother and father came running up to us.
We went on through and he looked so adorable.
His name there was Shovel but we thought of him as Darwin.
Darwin sat on mum’s lap on the way home.
When we got home we got him out and put him on the grass.
He sniffed around and quickley saw the veggtable garden and ventured inwardes.
Soon we brought Rosie out and
they got along pretty well,
but Rosie was a bit rough.
Mum accidently called Darwin Baily and that became his name.
